About Senora Arise

Senora Arise is a non governmental organisation that is focused on empowering the African woman and girls with the basic skills that would help them improve their lives and that of their families and community in general. We specialise in giving training on Information Technology, web design and basic computer skills. We intergrate other courses with these training as well. Such include training women on basic accounting skills for running their businesses, sewing and tailoring skills, weaving skills, curios and sculpture making skills, hair and beauty, cookery skills, child care, amongst many other skills.

 

At Senora Arise, we try to help girls, especially young single mothers with no source of income and no education to get them employment. We try to equip them with self reliant skills that can guarantee them a source of income and offer them finacial freedom. Senora Arise has helped women start small self help groups where women contribute and save monthly any amount they are able to which is later on used to advance very low interest loans to the members and non members. The monthly contribution buys them ''shares'' in the group. That helps in determining the ratio of sharing the profits and dividends. The same amounts are also used for investing in projects that members decide on. Senora Arise provides financial and investment advice for such groups.

 

Senora Arise acts as a mentor, power and strenght of women and girl child in Kenya. We have holiday camps, especially meant for young girls where we train girls on basic health issues, self esteem issues and career paths. Many parents are not able to talk to their girls concerning sex and sexual behaviours. We try as much as possible to give that to the girls at the camps. Senora is the mentor for the girl child.

 

Our Aim

Senora Arise is the safe nest for all Kenyan women. Here, they do not get judged by education level, or lack of poverty. Our main aim is to empower the kenyan woman socially, politically and economically. We aim at helping women achieve their financial freedom and be self reliant. We aim at giving hope to the young single mothers and women who have given up hope. Our main aim to awaken that sleeping giant in every single kenyan woman.

 

Who are we?

We are young women and men who know how Information Technology has touched and changed our lives. With many other skills we have in other fields, we try to share with women and girls who do not have the chance or funds to get basic or professional training. We try to create a path for the future of the young african woman. Together we act as the pillar for the women to lean on as they find they arise to the top!
